About Me
I am running for the Alum Rock School Board because I believe every student deserves an excellent education, a safe learning environment, and the opportunity to reach their full potential.
I’m an advocate at heart and I am committed to making informed, balanced decisions that reflect the needs of all students. It would be an honor to serve our community, advocate for our children, and help ensure our schools continue to provide high-quality educational opportunities for every student.
I’m a proud mother of a beautiful daughter that attends Alum Rock School District. Because of this, I care about the experience of families in our schools and ensuring a high quality of education for students. I led organized school programs, coordinated volunteers, advocated for student needs, and built partnerships that benefited our school community.
Mom
I’m a fighter, and I survived one of the most challenging health conditions someone can face. Even through that, I continued volunteering and showing up to meetings because students and families from Alum Rock matter to me. I am determined to reinvigorate this district and make it the positive and wonderful Alum Rock students deserve.
Cancer Survivor
PTA President
As a PTA President, I have had the privilege of working alongside parents, teachers, administrators, and community members to strengthen our school and support student success.
As an active parent in my child’s education, I served as the PTA President at school - leading an organization of 70 members, overseeing committees, and school-wide initiatives. I also managed an annual budget of $100,000 ensuring responsible financial oversight and responsible allocation of funds.
Chair of the Bond Oversight Committee
I lead with transparency and know the importance of keeping projects on budget and with citizen oversight. This is why I joined the Bond Oversight Committee at Alum Rock. For half a decade, no Bond Oversight Committee was established to look at the dollars spent. When it was finally brought back, I became inaugural chair of the committee. For the first time in half a decade, and with my leadership, we are complying with state law.
Board Member of Tropicana / Lanai Neighborhood Association
I advocate for my community - including my neighborhood. I’ve worked with the city, including the Mayor’s Office, our City Councilmember’s Office, the San Jose Police Department, the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, and a range of community organizations to bring attention to concerns from our neighborhood and to bring neighborhood clean ups to the area.
